A look at operations at the Roswell Air Center and new businesses in town will be among the topics presented at the city’s next virtual public forum this week.

The forum will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday through virtual meeting software GoToMeeting. Residents can join the forum through a computer, tablet or smartphone at https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/138486781. The forum can also be joined over the phone by calling 872-240-3311 and using access code 138-486-781.

The city is planning on pre-recording three presentations to be shown during the forum, according to City Manager Joe Neeb:

• Scott Stark, Roswell Air Center director, will speak on current operations at the RAC.

• Mike Espiritu, president of the Roswell-Chaves County Economic Development Corp., will give a briefing on economic development in the region.

• Bill Morris, community development director, will give an update on building permits and what businesses have come to town or are coming.

Neeb will follow up with a question-and-answer session. Questions for the forum can be submitted ahead of time online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/SeptPublicForum. Questions can also be submitted through GoToMeeting’s chat function during the forum.

One more virtual public forum is scheduled for this year. The Oct. 15 forum, beginning at 5:30 p.m., will be an open forum for Wards 1 and 2, which cover the central and northern areas of Roswell.

Past forums discussed how city departments and services work; citizen advisory boards, commissions and committees; and an open forum for Wards 3, 4 and 5. Videos of those forums are available on the city’s YouTube channel and the city manager’s page on the city website.
