Arrest made in deadly shooting

 Roswell Police Saturday night announced an arrest in connection with a Friday night fatal shooting that left one man dead.

According to a statement from Todd Wildermuth, public information officer with the Roswell Police Department, Joseph L. Vallejos, 27, was charged with one count each of involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence and felon in possession of a firearm.

  Vallejos is alleged to have shot 25-year-old Brandon Patterson once in the chest during a social gathering in an apartment at Raintree Apartments on West McGaffey Street just before midnight Friday.

  Several people were at the apartment at the time of the incident. The initial press release about the incident stated that after officers arrived, Patterson was transported to a local hospital. He was later pronounced deceased.
