Roswell officials on Monday released a list of street projects that could impact local traffic.

Traffic will be able to flow through these areas during the work, but lane closures are expected so traffic flow may be slower than usual, according to a press release from the city.

Motorists are urged to drive with extra caution in these areas as work takes place.

The projects are:

• The New Mexico Department of Transportation and the City of Roswell are doing a joint project this week (Oct. 5-8) to rewire the traffic signals at Southeast Main Street and East Hobbs Street. This will extend the life of the signals.

• Contractor crews will be working on private-company communications infrastructure in various areas. The schedules are subject to change: Oct. 6-8, Northbound Sunset Avenue between West Hobbs Street and West McGaffey Street; Oct. 12-13 (and possibly Oct. 14), North Main Street and Military Heights Drive; Oct. 14-15, Sunset Avenue and West McGaffey Street.

In addition, the 600 block of North Richardson Avenue will be closed through Thursday, Oct. 8, for a road repair made necessary by a water leak.

A portion of the roadway is being removed and repaved. Motorists are asked to detour to North Main Street and North Pennsylvania Avenue.
