No one was injured Thursday when crews from the Roswell Fire Department responded to a tent that caught on fire in the Berrendo riverbed.
Fire crews received the call at about 4 p.m. in the vicinity of the Roswell Mall, according to Todd Wildermuth, public information officer with the Roswell Fire Department.
“And what they found was a tent on fire,” he said. The tent, Wildermuth said, belonged to a homeless person. The flames, he said, did not go beyond the tent or a small area around it and was quickly contained.
Wildermuth added that the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
