A brother, son, husband, father, grandfather, retired truck driver, and collector of cars and guns, Michael Lynn Swope, 63, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020, in Albuquerque, NM, from a stroke that occurred after a routine surgery.

On March 13, 1957, Mike Swope was born in Cedar Rapids, IA. He was a lover of rock and blues music and anything that had an engine. At the age of 18, Michael enlisted in the US Army and deployed to Korea. When Mike returned, he was a jack of all trades but eventually found his love as a truck driver. He loved his 18 wheelers, and even though he hated being away from his family. Mike made his living driving trucks for the better part of his adult life before retiring in 2018.

Mike loved his family more than anything and spent thirty-five years married to the love of his life, Donna. He never expected others to do anything he wouldn’t have attempted to do himself first. Mike was brought up as a hardworking man and left this life the same way. He was loved very much by his children, and he always wanted a new picture with them whenever they had the chance to visit. In the end, Mike’s love and devotion to his family is the best measure of his success.
