Charles Douglas Shannon, 86 years old, passed away October 24, 2020 in Lovington, New Mexico. He was born in his grandparents’ home outside of Roswell on April 12, 1934. At 17 he enlisted in the Navy and served four years during the Korean War. Afterwards, he worked for Anderson and Watkins, Transwestern Pipeline, drove a truck cross country, and farmed. His favorite was farming.

He is survived by his children: Steve and Darla Shannon of Roswell, NM; Teresa and Tony Pierce of Fountain Hills, AZ; his grandchildren: Michael and Brittany Shannon of Roswell, NM; Drew and Kathy Pierce of Phoenix, AZ; Kira Shannon of Roswell, NM; Shiloh and David Rhodes of Mesa, AZ; his great grandchildren: Owen Rhodes; Haley Shannon-Flores; Riley Pierce; Avery Pierce; Olive Rhodes; Hannah Shannon; and Lily Shannon; his sister: Sharon Brinker of Lubbock, TX; and many other family members.

He is preceded by his parents, Carl and Nadine, and his sister Donna.

Due to the Corona Virus, there will be an immediate family service in April, his birth month.
