Reservation deadline for HSSNM drive-thru fundraiser

The board of directors for the Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico is hosting a Christmas drive-thru fundraiser on Dec. 6, which includes a special event menu by Peppers Grill & Bar. Pick up time is from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with first stop at HSSNM Museum to pick up the reserved tickets. From there, ticket holders pick up their dinner at Peppers Grill & Bar, also as drive-thru in its parking lot. There will also be special events happening on the radio and a silent auction. Winter Wonderland

The annual Winter Wonderland benefiting the Chaves County CASA and the Artesia Advocacy Center is going to be virtual this year and include a historic Jeep raffle and a silent auction. Christmas Railway

A limited amount of tickets each night are available: From Nov. 27 to 29, Dec. 4 to 6, Dec. 11 to 13, Dec. 16 to 24, Dec. 26 to 27; 5 to 9 p.m. daily. Due to potential restrictions from the New Mexico Governor’s Office, the train ride may be limited to children 12 and under along with a guardian. Riddle Room at RMAC

There is a secret to be found, mysterious hidden messages that were put in place by past Roswell Artist-in-Residence members. Can you beat the clock and find at least 12 clues before the hour is over? The RMAC Riddle Room is open to groups of up to five people, due to the governor’s regulations. Masks are required. For the safety of the groups, only three groups per day are permitted into the room, to have enough time to sanitize everything before the next group arrives. The riddles are best for participants 16 years or older. For more information and to reserve a spot, call 575-624-6744.

Operation Christmas Child

The annual Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child’s National Collection Week central drop-off location is Grace Community Church, 935 W. Mescalero Road. The public may drop off their box, Nov. 16 to 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Nov. 21, drop off is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 22, after church service, drop off is from 1 to 4 p.m. The last day for the general public to drop off boxes is Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call Hamilton at 575-626-2071. Decorating downtown

Volunteers are needed to help MainStreet Roswell decorate the crosswalk poles and alien light poles with Santa hats, ribbons and Christmas lights. The decorations cover Walnut to Eighth streets. Virtual showing of ‘10 Ways to Survive Life in a Quarantine’

Auditions to Santa’s Talent Search

The Roswell Community Little Theatre, 1717 S. Union Ave., is holding auditions on both days at 6 p.m. for its holiday talent show Santa’s Talent Search. There is an entry fee. The performances will be on Dec. 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit roswelltheatre.com.

Postponed until after the pandemic restrictions lift

Bowl for Kids’ Sake 

The annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake, which benefits the nonprofit organization Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern New Mexico, has been postponed until restrictions due to the COVID-19 crisis are lifted. For more information, visit bbbssenm.org or its Facebook page.
