While school has been mostly virtual during the pandemic for students enrolled in Chaves County schools, Operation School Bell has been continuing to provide new school-specific clothing, hygiene kits and books to students in need in grades kindergarten through eighth grade who are referred by school personnel in preparation for returning to class.

The process of distributing the items has adapted under the safety protocols by changing from on-site to drive-by pick-up. Dianna Dosher, Operation School Bell chair, reports that 97 students have been helped so far this year, as of Oct. 22. Assistance League of Chaves County appreciates this funding support very much.
