RISD to provide student meals during upcoming holiday

The Student Nutrition Department of the Roswell Independent School District will be closed for several days during the Thanksgiving period, so seven days of “Grab and Go” meals for students will be provided before the closure on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Kimberly Meeks, director of student nutrition for the school district, said the department will not be operating from Wednesday, Nov. 25 through Friday, Dec. 4. It will resume normal weekday operations starting Monday, Dec. 7, at 8 a.m.

But the department will provide seven days of breakfasts and lunches to students that pick up their usual Grab and Go meals Nov. 24. The holiday meals will be frozen and prepackaged, with heating instructions provided.

The meals can be picked up on Nov. 24 from 8 a.m. to noon at the following schools: Goddard High School, Roswell High School, University High School, Berrendo Elementary, East Grand Plains Elementary, Military Heights Elementary, Missouri Elementary, Monterrey Elementary, Nancy Lopez Elementary, Pecos Elementary, Sunset Elementary, Valley View Elementary and Washington Elementary.
