Manuel Villarreal, 36, was located and subsequently arrested Friday at about 11 p.m. at a 900 block of North Beech Street residence without incident, the Roswell Police Department announced in a statement Saturday.

Earlier in the day, a warrant had been issued for Villarreal’s arrest on criminal counts of first degree murder, intimidation of a witness, and felon in possession of a firearm in the Nov. 20 shooting death of John Halfmann, 43.

Before Friday Villarreal had been sought for questioning in Halfmann’s death but had not been formally charged.

According to the RPD, Halfmann, who had suffered a gunshot wound, was found Nov. 20 sometime before 4 a.m. in a shed on a 700 block of East Fifth Street residence. A man who lived in the shed reportedly contacted police after finding Halfmann.
