Karen Burnett, 81, of Roswell, NM, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Sunday, November 29, 2020.

SERVICES: Services are under the direction of Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020, in Jayton, TX, at 1:00 PM.

Karen was born in Big Springs, TX, on February 26, 1939, to Ollie and Nettie Miller. She took up residence in Dexter, NM, in 1963, where Karen raised her family for twenty-two years before moving to Roswell, NM, where she spent the rest of her days. She worked at Levi Strauss for twenty-eight years, until she retired in 1968.

There was nothing more important to Karen than her family. She spent many years traveling back and forth to family reunions, playing dominos, and enjoying the company of her loved ones. Karen enjoyed camping and fishing. If you could not find her at home, you could almost bet she was in the mountains or at a lake.

SURVIVORS: Those left to still cherish Karen’s memory are her sister. Linda France of Roswell, NM; three children: Rick (Jimi Sue) Burnett of Lampasas TX, Vickie (Jack) Perry of Big Spring, TX, Pam Mutter of Roswell, NM; seven grandchildren: Corey (Erin) Burnett of Odessa, TX, Tyler Burnett of Odessa, TX, Matthew (Natasha) Burnett of Gardner, MA, Chris (Tish) Perry of Coahoma, TX, Kendra (Clay) Simmons of Coahoma, TX, Ashley (Doug) Buhler of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Lexi (Allen) Mutter of Roswell, NM; twelve great-grandchildren; special nieces: Michele (Terry) Battin of Roswell, NM, Nikki Jonas of Roswell, NM; and too many special extended family members to list.

PRECEDED: Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Nettie Miller; and two grandsons: Bryan Rhodes and Toby Berry.

The loss is immeasurable but so is the love left behind. Karen will greatly missed.

Karen’s tribute was written in her honor by her family.
