A loving daughter and friend, DENISE JOANNE LOPEZ, 34, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020, in Roswell, New Mexico. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Denise’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

SERVICES: A Graveside Service for Denise will be held at South Park Cemetery on Friday, December 11, 2020, at 10:00 AM.

On June 4, 1986, Denise was born to Bryan Eric Lopez and Julia Josephine Vale in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Roswell High School.

Denise was an advocate for people with intellectual disabilities. She was on the leadership team of Tony’s All-Stars Advocacy group sponsored by The Arc of New Mexico. Denise helped plan and participated in conferences, fundraisers, and meetings for the group. Denise volunteered to collect and clean caps and lids for recycling to be used to make park benches for the Main Street Roswell Project.

She was an avid athlete and participated in the Special Olympics of New Mexico. Over the years, Denise won medals in bowling, bocci, volleyball, track, and basketball.

Denise enjoyed arts and crafts, playing bingo, talking on the phone, going to the movies and spending time with her friends. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her Nana, Mama, Dad and Auntie Kristian. Denise When sharing memories about Denise, others always mention her sweet smile and her willingness to help others. She attended Sunday School and worship services at the First Baptist Church in Roswell, New Mexico.

SURVIVORS: Those left to cherish memories of Denise are her parents, Julia Vale and Bryan Lopez; grandparents: Nana Nancy Vale, Silverio Vale and Erlinda Vale; siblings: Eric Lopez Vale, Daniel Lara Vale and Krystal Lopez; aunts and uncles: Kristian Ornelas, Chris Ornelas, Eileen, Anette, Arthur and wife; nieces and nephews: Alyanna Lopez, Miryea Lopez, Jovelly Lopez and Josephine Lopez.

PRECEDED: Denise was preceded in death by her sister, Brianna J. Lopez; uncle Ardo Vale; and Grandma Elena Lopez, Grandpa Benjamin Lopez and great-grandma Cookie Julia Vale.

HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Those blessed to serve as Honorary Pallbearers are Eric Vale, Daniel Vale, Mario (Bubby) Ornelas, Christopher (TBO) Ornelas and Trystian Ornelas.

The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Dr. Nazon, and the ICU Nurses at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center of Roswell, New Mexico.
