The Gonzales family Community Volunteer Program is still in need of donations for its Christmas toy drive.

Mary Gonzales said more than 100 children are registered to receive gifts, but toys are still needed to meet the demand. Gonzales said she is not able to take any more registrations to receive toys.

The drive got a boost this week with a $300 donation from Red Lobster, 2625 N. Main St., where the toy pickup for those who registered will take place Sunday. Family Dollar, 2801 N. Main St., has also donated bags for the toys, Gonzales said.

Anyone wanting to donate toys should do so by Friday, Gonzales said, by calling her at 575-624-7579.

Toys for boys and girls ages 7 to 17 are needed, especially the older ages, she said.
