Suzi was lovingly known by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Nana and Grandma Suzi.” She was 82 years young when she passed away peacefully in her sleep in Artesia, New Mexico, at Good Life Senior Living and Memory Care.

On March 9, 1938, Suzi was born in Dexter, New Mexico, to George L. and Lizzie B. Grassie. She grew up in Dexter and later moved to Roswell, where she lived until moving to Artesia in 2019 to be closer to her daughter.

Suzi worked for Diamond A Cattle Co. as a bookkeeper before becoming Robert O. Anderson’s personal assistant, a position she proudly held for over thirty-five years. After retiring, she volunteered at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in their gift shop as a coffee barista, where Suzi loved knowing the type of coffee her customers ordered. Her specialty and personal favorites were caramel macchiato or anything with chocolate and she also enjoyed coming up with new coffee flavors with her granddaughter Ashley.

Suzi was also involved with Desk and Derrick, PEO, The Pearls Birthday Club, Book Club, and Altrusa. She loved playing bridge, or any type of card game including Slap Jack with Jaxon and Mason, Trash Train, and The Dallas Cowboys. Suzi enjoyed spending Saturdays’ with her daughter at the movie theatre watching new releases.
