On Monday, December 28, 2020, Granvel (Gene) Vick, a loving Father of seven children, passed away at the age of 59. Gene was born on December 28, 1961 in Belen, NM to Howard and Emma Vick.

Gene was a truck driver for Wild West Express in Las Cruces, NM for 30 plus years and loved every minute of it traveling across American with his beloved dog Harley. Gene loved trucking and spent most of his extra money on Bronco and NASCAR memorabilia which he always said that he wanted his grandkids to have. He loved trucking the open road especially when he was able to get down to the Houston area or up in Oregon and was able to see his daughters and grandkids!

He was a loving man that was always willing to help others even if it was just a simple BBQ and a cold beer.

He was preceded in death by both parents, daughter Michelle Vick, sisters Sharon Lyon, Teresa Tabor and Evelyn Vick and brother Billy Vick.

Gene is survived by his daughters Diana (Brian) Linnell, Amanda (Charles) Hawthorne, Amanda (Kutter) Cole and Sadie Vick and sons, Christopher (Amanda) Vick and Corey Dear. He is also survived by brother Johnny Vick and sisters Anita (Mike) Rivera and Denise Vick. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Levi Fischer, Mercedez Berg, Corey Dear Jr, Codee Viramontes, Austin Dear, DaTravion Gates, Chase Vick, Ecko De’Oreion Gates, Nicole Linnell and DeAverion Gates.

His family would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers as they grieve the passing of their father!!

Gene’s home going will be Friday, January 1, 2021 at 2pm at his mother’s home located at 43 Richmond Rd Dexter, NM.
