RPD investigating after man found shot

Roswell police are investigating a shooting after a 67-year-old man was found shot Wednesday.

Police were dispatched to the 500 block of South Main Street at 12:19 p.m. in reference to a victim of a shooting, according to an incident report filed by the Roswell Police Department.

The man, who was found in a pickup truck behind a building, was transported to a local hospital for treatment and has since been released, Todd Wildermuth, public information officer with the RPD, said Thursday.

Wildermuth added police believe the actual shooting may have occurred sometime early in the morning Wednesday, but the investigation is still ongoing.

No additional information about possible suspects or motive was available as of Thursday afternoon.
