Parks Commission to meet Monday

The Roswell Parks and Recreation Commission will meet Monday for the first time since September and will hear about the reopening of the Spring River Zoo.

The virtual meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday. On a computer, tablet or smartphone, the meeting can be accessed at https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/349450125, or by calling 571-317-3112 and using access code 349-450-125.

Zoo Curator Andrea Cole will give a presentation on the zoo’s opening, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 16. The day will include a scavenger hunt with prizes, a gift shop and a food truck.

Recreation Manager Marcus Gallegos will introduce new Aquatic Supervisor Mick Reeves, who will give an update on the Aquatic Center. Gallegos will give a report on the Recreation Department, and Jim Burress, director of special services and parks, will report on the Parks Department.
