David Pirtle, loving husband and father, passed away December 26, 2020, at the age of 85. He was born in Roswell, NM, in 1935 to Aileen and Burgher Pirtle. In 1956, David married Marilyn Lane of Phoenix, AZ. He worked in auto sales for over 20 years, and later started two businesses; one in direct sales of decorative candles, and the second retailing small barns and sheds in the Seattle area. They raised two sons, Steven and Daniel.

David had a lifelong love of music. He was a talented pianist, and also played guitar and clarinet. He loved singing and performing for others. Early on he would play songs around campfires and family gatherings. He later played bluegrass and country western in a local group named Dry Heat. Other hobbies included woodworking, fishing, boating, dancing, and many home remodeling projects.

David had a very outgoing personality, and easily made friends with a great many people through the years. The couple moved to Seattle in 1980, and he finally retired in 1994. David and Marilyn spent many good times traveling across America, either on their motorcycle or in their trailer. In 2000, they returned to Arizona and built a home in Sun City Grand.

David was survived by his wife of 64 years, Marilyn; sons Steven (Sandy) and Daniel (Deborah); brothers James (Frances, both deceased), Robert (Jennifer) and Patrick (Gretchen); grandchildren Andrew, Justin, and Luke; great-grandson Eli Pirtle; plus, many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
