Jan enjoyed her Bible study courses and loved sewing, quilting and virtually any crafting hobby. She loved to travel and keep scrapbooks of the places she visited. She also enjoyed line dancing in her earlier years.

The famous Texas Legend Horned Toad, “Old Rip”, originally belonged to her father and was placed in the cornerstone of the Eastland Texas County courthouse building by his father E.E. Wood in 1897 and was found living years later when the building was replaced.
