Ruben Anthony Gomez, 63, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, in El Paso, Texas. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Ruben’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

SERVICES: A Viewing for Ruben will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021, at Church On The Move from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 PM. Burial will take place at South Park Cemetery on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 2:00 PM.

On May 4, 1957, Ruben was born to Fidencio and Romelia Gomez in Corna, California. He graduated from Roswell High School. Ruben was the beloved husband of Dara Gomez, whom he married on July 17, 1993, in Midway, New Mexico. Prior to retirement, Ruben worked as an interstate truck driver. He loved playing golf, it was his favorite pastime. Ruben loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

PRECEDED: Ruben was preceded in death by his parents, Fidencio and Romelia Gomez and granddaughter, Tessamarie Anderson Gomez.

SURVIVORS: Those left to carry on Ruben’s legacy are his beloved wife, Dara Gomez; children: Derrick and Angie Gomez, Chelsie Stewart, Josh and Emily Merchant, Trent and Joni Merchant, Kristen and Jeb Swearingen; grandchildren: Marissa Gomez, Jaylien Gomez, Chael Gomez, Jeremiah Stewart, Abel Stewart, Brayden Stewart, Caleb Merchant, Ryan Merchant, Alison Merchant, Tristan Merchant, Mackenzie Merchant, Hailey Merchant, ShaeAnne Swearingen, Riley Swearingen, Annika Swearingen, and Evan Swearingen; brothers and sisters: Sylvia and husband Richard Lujan, Maria and husband Chuck Delossantos, Susan and Jose Madrid, Raul Gomez, Veronica Gomez, Lettie, and Fidencio Gomez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
