Jewelry reported stolen in Michigan Avenue burglary

An officer responded Jan. 16 at 8:59 p.m. to a burglary forced entry in the 1600 block of South Michigan Avenue. Two doors, each valued at $100, were reported damaged. Reported stolen were: a Catholic rosary with a sterling silver cross, valued at $40; a gold bracelet, valued at $1,000, with rubies and diamonds; a wooden jewelry box valued at $20; a jar with $200 worth of coins; a plastic cup with $275 worth of quarters; a jewelry box valued at $10; a diamond ring valued at $450; a diamond engagement ring valued at $1,200; a titanium ring valued at $300; four rings each valued at $150; a pair of earrings valued at $20; two jewelry boxes with a combined value of $15; and miscellaneous jewelry with a combined value of $40.

Arrests/citations

Marquel Kevin Warner was charged with robbery and probation violation Jan. 17 at 4:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Conner Street.

Vivian Aranda was charged with driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs Jan. 18 at 12:53 a.m. in the 1500 block of North Garden Avenue.

Barbara M. Otero was charged Jan. 18 at 5:16 p.m. with controlled substances, possession prohibited and failure to comply in the 200 block of West Second Street.

Jose Angel Munoz was charged Jan. 18 at 8:06 p.m. with disturbing contents of a trash receptacle in the 200 block of West Deming Street.

Jack Salcido was charged Jan. 19 at 6:18 p.m. with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs in the 1100 block of South Wyoming Avenue.

Mikel D. Kinney was charged Jan. 21 at 10:46 a.m. with possession of marijuana in the 200 block of South Main Street.

Criminal damage

Police responded Jan. 17 at 5:02 p.m. to the 300 block of East Eighth Street in reference to a report of criminal damage. Four tires with a combined value of $400 were reported damaged.

An officer was dispatched Jan. 17 at 8:01 p.m. to the 100 block of 22nd Street in reference to a report of criminal damage. A bedroom window valued at $100 was reported damaged.

Police responded Jan. 20 at 5:23 p.m. to a criminal damage call in the 1400 block of West Second Street. A mailbox valued at $100 was reported damaged.

Larceny/theft

Police were dispatched Jan. 15 at 9:03 a.m. to the 1900 block of South Sunset Avenue in reference to a larceny and criminal damage call. An outdoor patio set valued at $100 was reported stolen and a door valued at $100 was reported damaged.

An officer was dispatched Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. to the 1100 block of North Greenwood Avenue in reference to a larceny from a motor vehicle. A firearm valued at $200 was reported stolen.

Police responded Jan. 19 at 12:05 p.m. to a larceny in the 1500 block of West Seventh Street. A trailer valued at $125 was reported stolen.

An officer responded Jan. 21 at 2:05 a.m. to the 1600 block of North Michigan Avenue in reference to an unlawful taking of a motor vehicle. A 2005 Suzuki GZ250 motorcycle was reported stolen.
