Mrs. Vivian R. Niec R.N., age 90, of Roswell, entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday evening, January 19, 2021, at home.

Vivian “Vee” Rosanne Minarek was born in Cleveland, OH on September 30, 1930 to John and Anne (Kleban) Minarek. She had one younger sibling, Robert Minarek. While living in Cleveland, she graduated from St. Alexis School of Nursing in 1951; married Raymond Thomas Niec in 1952; and had 8 children between 1953 and 1967. In 1971, Raymond and Vivian moved their family to Roswell, NM where they became members of St. Peter’s Catholic Parrish.

Vivian was lovingly known as “Grammy” by her 21 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. Each family member was overjoyed anytime they saw an envelope in the mail with her beautiful handwriting on it, for each would be filled with love, well wishes, and prayers.

Vivian enjoyed reading all the newspapers, as well as the gossip papers, and Women’s Day magazines. Her favorite pastime, however, was watching football; cheering on her Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Bengals.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Niec; her parents, John and Anne Minarek; her brother, Robert Minarek; and her granddaughter, Jessica Niec.
