Fire crews attempt to extinguish a trailer house fire Monday in the 500 block of Gramma Avenue. Personnel from the Roswell Fire Department, Sierra Volunteer Fire Department, Berrendo Fire Department and Superior Ambulances responded to the fire, which sent plumes of black smoke into the air that could be seen from miles away. Todd Wildermuth, public information officer with the RFD, said a call reporting the fire came in at 2:12 p.m. All occupants of the residence that were home at the time of the fire were able to exit the house safely. According to Wildermuth, Fire Marshall Jared Olive said the cause of the fire is officially undetermined but there is a high probability that it was sparked by some sort of electrical fault in the home.
