RPD investigating Sunday morning shooting

A Sunday shooting that left one man injured is being investigated by the Roswell Police Department.

The man, who was shot in the area of West Deming Street and South Lea Avenue, was transported to an area hospital after police responded to a call about the incident at 9:40 a.m., Todd Wildermuth, public information officer with RPD, said.

No further details about the incident or the condition of the victim were released.

The incident marks the third shooting in Roswell in as many days.

Police are still investigated the Friday fatal shooting of Anthony Vasquez, 56, of Roswell. Vasquez was found wounded inside a camper trailer Friday morning in the 2600 block of South Missouri Avenue when police responded at 7:40 a.m. to a call in that area. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.

A woman was injured in a shooting Saturday at 4:15 p.m. outside a home in the 800 block of East Fifth Street. The woman was transported to a hospital where her condition, as of Sunday afternoon, had still not been disclosed.

Two individuals — ages 15 and 16 — were arrested in connection with Saturday’s shooting, Wildermuth said. The suspects are each charged with one criminal count of shooting at or from a motor vehicle, conspiracy to shoot at or from a motor vehicle, aggravated battery, conspiracy to commit aggravated battery and two counts of child abuse. The 15-year-old is also charged with tampering with evidence.
