On November 16th, 2020 at 7:11 PM Geneva V Gonzales passed away in her home due to complications following a massive stroke at the age of 92. Geneva was surrounded by her family when she took her last breath. Graveyard services for immediate family and close friends will be held on February 13th at 10AM at the South Park Cemetery.

Geneva V Gonzales was born on April 17th, 1928 in Nogal Canyon, Bent NM. She moved to Roswell NM in 1942 and married Julio M Gonzales of Roswell. She worked for the family owned business named “The Star Bar” located on Alameda and Main street and became a foster Parent for 10 years. In 1964 she worked as a cook for Roswell High, Goddard, and Edgewood school. Geneva retired in 1997 to later take care of her husband and great-grandchildren. She lived a long healthy happy life and was a prayer warrior at 9PM every night for everyone that ever touched her life.

Survived by are Daughters Irene Garcia and Shelly Gonzales of Roswell. Foster Daughter Lorraine Mendez. Grandchildren Gina Grado of Roswell, Charles Garcia of Dallas, Lisa Fresquez of Nevada, Timmy Fresquez of Roswell Gilbert Garcia Gonzales, Angela Gonzales of Hobbs, January Zamora of Roswell, Cruz Mendez, and Anthony of Tularosa.

Preceded in death by Husband Julio M Gonzales of, Son Jerry Paul Gonzales, and grandson Ronnie Garcia Gonzales of Roswell, Father Jose Villescas and Mother Luciana Sanez Villescas of Bent, grandfather Juan Sanez, grandmother Rena Saenz of Bent, brother Clemente Villescas, brother Joe Villescas, and sister Luciana Sheve of Roswell.

A Special thank you to my Daughter January Zamora and my nieces Angela and Nevaeha Gonzales for taking special care of mom and being there for me through this difficult time. Also, my friends and Family for their support and prayers, my WAFD family for their prayers. To Hospice and Anderson and Bethany Funeral Home for the care of my mom, and to my friends Trina Padilla and Gloria Terry for their love and support.
