BeWellnm, the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange, announced last week the beginning of the special enrollment period for the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange, which ends on May 15.

The special three-month reopening of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) insurance marketplace provides uninsured New Mexicans with a new opportunity to find affordable coverage, according to a press release from beWellnm.

“BeWellnm encourages all uninsured New Mexicans to begin the enrollment process as soon as possible because of the limited amount of time to find comprehensive, affordable health insurance options,” said Maureen Manring, director of communication and outreach for beWellnm. “People who have lost job-based insurance during the pandemic or remain uninsured may not realize that they are now eligible to enroll in the marketplace. …

“If you are considering enrolling in health insurance, call 1-833-862-3935 for assistance or visit beWellnm.com and schedule a virtual appointment.”

Financial help is also available to New Mexicans who qualify. The beWellnm team of certified navigators, enrollment counselors, agents, brokers and staff services are free, the press release states.
