Update: Local 911 phone line service restored

The city is reporting that 911 phone line service has been restored. All phone lines to the dispatch center are operating normally.


Emergency 911 phone lines to the Pecos Valley Regional Communications Center dispatch center in Roswell were not working as of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to information released by the city of Roswell.

Calls have been temporarily routed to Eddy County.

Anyone who has trouble reaching a 911 dispatcher is urged to directly call the Roswell Police Department at 575-624-6770, or the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office at 575-624-6500.

The phone company is working to rectify the issue, according to the city.
