Gilbert Silvas, age 64, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020.

He was born in Pecos, Texas to Manuel Silvas and Delia Campos.

Along with his wife Kathi, Gilbert is survived by his children Stacey Silvas of Albuquerque; Sonya Silvas of Wilmington, NC; Johnny Silvas of Odessa, TX, and Patrick Silvas (Morgan) of Roswell. Adult grandchildren: Alyssa Silvas and partner Vincent; Joshua Valenzuela- Greene & partner Melissa; Gabriel Ray Valenzuela- Greene & partner Cheyenne; Breanna Haire & partner Donaldo and 7 minor grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his step-father Guadalupe O. Campos and siblings Guadalupe Campos Jr & wife Melissa of Amarillo, Tx.; his sissy, Margie Campos of Roswell. Numerous nieces & nephews along with numerous cousins & Aunts. In-laws: Mother-in-Law Mary Stephens of Canyon, Tx; brother-in-law Rick Stephens & wife Tammy of Forney, Tx.; sister-in-law Patti Stephens of Ft. Worth, Tx & sister-in-law Melissa Campos of Amarillo, Tx; and best friend: Scott Brook & wife Elsie of Phoenix, AZ, and at least 10 foster children and many others that called him Grandpa.

Preceding Gilbert in passing were his mother, Delia Campos (2011) and father Manual Silvas, and father-in-law Irvin Stephens (1990).

Gilbert was a hard worker and worked at jobs from picking cotton, to construction, to making busses. He was an avid sports fan and you could usually find him at the softball fields or on the golf course. He loved God, his family and sports.

A memorial service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Grace Community Church, 935 W. Mescalero in Roswell. To honor Gilbert’s memory feel free to wear your favorite Sports team attire. Friends may join the service at roswellgrace.com/memorial-service.
