Officers with the Roswell Police Department stand near the scene of a shooting Wednesday in the area of West Mathews Street and South Michigan Avenue, in which one woman was shot. Todd Wildermuth, public information officer with the Roswell Police Department, said the RPD received the shots-fired call at about 11:40 a.m. The woman was taken from the scene to a hospital by private vehicle before police or first responders arrived. Both Missouri Avenue Elementary School and Valley View Elementary School, which are near the scene, were placed on lockdown minutes after police received the initial call. Wildermuth said the lockdowns were lifted after about a half hour. No additional information was available before press time Wednesday. (Alex Ross Photo)
