His Story

On Tuesday, April 6, 2021, James Earl Jackson, 61, passed away in Roswell. On May 24, 1959, he was born in Roswell, NM, to Melvin Jackson Sr and Zula M. Ross.

James worked at Tobosa Development Center for 15 years, Rescare, and Roswell Do-It Center, all in Roswell. He served in the United States Army and was a lifetime resident of Roswell. James loved to go fishing and play bingo. He was a very loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle. James married Roberta Allen on October 18, 1982, in Roswell.

Preceding James in death is his father, Melvin Jackson Sr; mother, Zula M. Ross; sister, Linda K. Jackson; son, Damon S. Jackson; and his mother-in-law, Minnie (PEACHES) Allen.

Left to cherish James memories are his wife, Roberta Jackson; son, Michael D. Jackson; daughter, Ebony and J.R Madero; grandchildren: Teya Jackson and Keegen King, Tashawn Jackson of Rio Rancho, Trayvaughn Jackson, Tamareon Jackson of Roswell, Eva, Mailani, Milliana Jackson of Albuquerque, Za’Kariah (MO MO) Madero of Roswell; sisters: Erma Brooks, Joyce and Murphy Darden of MI, Judy and Melvin Lacey of NM; brothers: Melvin Jackson Jr and wife Sabine of KY, Eddie Jackson Sr, Lloyd Wayne Jackson, Robert Jackson Sr all of Roswell.

James leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, aunts, uncles, as well as his special friends/brothers: George Rabb, Oscar Ronquillo, Keith Bradley, Debbie and Fred Smith, and Charles Harper.

There will be a viewing at Anderson Bethany on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. James’s funeral service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 10:00 AM.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, Kymera Cancer Center, and all the staff and ENMMC and staff.

James will be missed dearly by all of his loving family and friends

There will be a dinner at the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.), 1620 North Montana Avenue, Roswell, NM, after services.
