Richard Lynn Roberts (76) of Roswell, NM went to his heavenly home on April 14, 2021. Rick was born in Saginaw, Michigan to Ervin and Lawanda Roberts. He lived in many places around the world as a young boy but eventually made his home in Albuquerque, NM along with his sister and brother.

Rick enlisted in the United States Army in 1964 where he served our country in the Vietnam War with the 173rd Airborne Brigade as a paratrooper. After his time in the Army, Rick returned to Albuquerque to attend the University of NM. There he met Suzanne McClellan and they married in 1979. They moved to Roswell where they started a family with his two children Tyrell and Renee. Early in his career Rick owned Hondo Pipe & Supply and eventually working with McClellan Oil and Tyre’ Enterprises as a Real-estate Broker. Rick’s family was the most important thing to him. He was a kind and dependable husband and father who raised his family in the ways of the Lord. Rick was known for his larger than life presence and his ability to dream big. The title he was most proud of was being called Pops by his grandchildren.

Rick enjoyed hunting, golfing, and restoring classic cars.

Rick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Suzanne, his son Tyrell Roberts and his wife Kristina of Fort Worth and daughter Renee Hudson and her husband Josh of Roswell. His sister Ann Mellin and brother Jeff Roberts and wife Peggy of Albuquerque NM, cousin and close friend Greg Wilder and his 4 grandchildren Kinsleigh, Hank, and Remi Hudson and Kymber Roberts. He called many others his family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the First Tee Southeastern New Mexico 201 W. 19th St Roswell, NM. 88201.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Christ Church with Pastor Gerry Chavez officiating.
