On April 4, 1939, Juan was born to Lucas Arzola and Rosa Padilla in Durango, Mexico. He was the beloved husband of Manuela “Nellie” Contreras Padilla, whom he shared 43 years prior to her passing in 2017. Juan was a dedicated, hard worker that made it his priority to provide for his wife and children. His appearance was essential to him, and he was always seen dressed up with his black cowboy hat and boots. Juan’s greatest joy in life was spending time and making memories with his family and friends.

Juan worked in agriculture (farming) all his life. He always kept himself busy and loved working on cars. He looked forward to planting his garden with cantaloupes, chili, tomato, and so on, but most of all, his watermelons; people loved them. One of Juan’s favorite things to do was to go shoot his prized gun. He never met a stranger, everyone always had a good time being around him. Juan will be remembered for his incredible charisma, uniqueness, kindred spirit, and the way he could captivate people and their hearts.
