RISD board to discuss superintendent candidates

The school board of Roswell Independent School District will have a special meeting next week to possibly decide on the next superintendent.

Board members met all day Saturday in executive session to interview the seven candidates. Monday evening, they met to conduct an executive session to discuss the interviews.

After a discussion lasting about two and a half hours, board members returned to an open meeting and voted for a special meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday to discuss and possibly vote on their choice for superintendent.

The candidates are Ruben Bolaños, RISD director of STEM and career technical education; Curtis Clough, associate superintendent of schools with Silver Consolidated Schools in Silver City; Jennifer Cole, RISD assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction; Porter Cutrell, director of career and technical education for the Commerce City, Colorado, school district; Randall Earwood, a middle school science teacher in China Springs, Texas; Brian Luck, principal at Goddard High School; and Mireya Trujillo, RISD assistant superintendent of human resources.
