Circle K International volunteers participate Saturday morning in the 2021 downtown Community Planting Day, organized annually by MainStreet Roswell volunteers. Maureen Olguin, left, is the faculty advisor for the Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell chapter of Circle K, a collegiate group associated with Kiwanis International. Zaida Almeida is one of its members. Kiwanis also had volunteers placing flowers and decorative greens in planters on both sides of Main Street, from the Chaves County Courthouse on Fifth Street to Walnut Street. Other volunteers represented New Mexico Military Institute, Leprino Foods Co., Miss Cinderella Pageant and Keep Chaves County Beautiful, which also donated flowers, plants and soil.
