Officers announced for American Legion Post 28

Legion members voted on the honor last month and Truijillo was announced as the selection by Orlando Padilla, center, during a meeting Monday night at the post, 1620 N. Montana. Also pictured is Louis Mestas, who was announced as post commander for 2021-22. Trujillo served as post commander last year. Other officers for 2021-22 were also announced at Monday’s meeting. They are Padilla, first vice commander; Trujillo, second vice commander; Roy Brady, finance officer; Antonio Nuñez, sergeant-at-arms; and Lawrence Longo, chaplain. New officers were sworn in by Bobby Casados, vice commander of the state American Legion. Trujillo presented the 2020-21 officers with a coin for their service. They are Felix Sosa, first vice commander; Mestas, adjutant; Padilla, finance officer; Nuñez, sergeant-at-arms; and Longo, chaplain.
