Steve Wier passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 in Lubbock Texas. Graveside services were held at 11:00 am Monday, May 24, 2021 at Tatum Cemetery with Brother Wayne Brazil officiating. Steve was born on November 26, 1958 in Hobbs NM to Thomas and Mildred Wier. He graduated high school in 1976 and began his life long dream of raising sheep, farming and trading cattle. Wherever he went, he was always found singing, whistling or playing his harmonica. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and their many trips to the sheep barn. Steve enjoyed reciting cowboy poetry; civil war history and genealogy of his family. He attended church at New Beginnings. Steve and Debra saved each other and were married on May 6, 2016.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Thomas; wife, Theresa and son, Joseph Coleman and his wife, Tympe.

Survivors include his wife, Debra; mother, Mildred; son, Shad and his wife, Desiree; daughter, Rachel and her husband, Damon; son, Clay and his wife, Tabitha; son, DeWitt Wier; step-son Matt and wife, Christy Ayala and Aaron and wife, Crystal Ayala; one Step-Daughter: Jacquelin Blanchette; 17 grandchildren; brothers, Ross and wife, Rhonda, Tim and wife, Tammy, Andy and wife, Sheila, Allen and wife, Johnna and Rory and wife, Cassie; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate blood to your local blood drive in memory of Steve. Visitation was held Sunday, May 23 from 5-7 pm at Kirby Ratliff Funeral Home in Lovington Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby Ratliff Funeral Home.
