Terry Proctor, Ruidoso Downs, mounts an American flag to his motorcycle during a ceremony transferring the duties of flag-bearer to him from Ryan Frost, center, Thursday afternoon at Champion Harley-Davidson, 2801 W. Second. Chaves County Undersheriff Charles Yslas, left, assisted in the ceremony after he and five deputies escorted the flag through Roswell. The flag is being carried through all 50 states in the Nation of Patriots’ 2021 Patriot Tour, and this marks the fifth year it has stopped in Roswell. The tour started May 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada, then traveled to Hawaii, Alaska and Arizona. Frost became flag-bearer Thursday morning in Albuquerque, and Proctor, who is state regional commander for Nation of Patriots, will take the flag to Portales Friday.
