Ernesto C. Gutierrez, 90, a loving husband, father and grandfather (Tata), passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021, in the family home surrounded by his loving family. Please take a moment and share a fond memory or kind expression of sympathy for Ernesto’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

SERVICES: There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 9:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held at Hagerman Cemetery.

On May 27, 1931, Ernesto was born to Rodrigo and Catalina Gutierrez in Guadalupe, Mexico. Shortly after, the family moved to New Mexico. He and his wife of sixty-three years moved to Dexter, where they raised their family. While living in Dexter, Ernesto was self-employed for many years operating his own hay hauling business. He also worked many years at the Bogle Farms. Ernesto enjoyed spending time with family and his dear friend, Gilbert Sedillo. He loved attending the Dexter Demon sporting events and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Ernesto enjoyed music and going dancing at the Gomez Club.

SURVIVORS: Those left to cherish memories of Ernesto are his loving wife, Adela Gutierrez; children: Joe Gutierrez (Mary), Bertha Chavez, Freddie Gutierrez (Linda), Sally Peach (Jesse), Rudy Gutierrez (Valerie), Michael Gutierrez (Virginia); seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; as well as his two sisters: Emma Sanchez and Ofelia Montañez.

PRECEDED: Ernesto is preceded in death by his parents, Rodrigo and Catalina Gutierrez; siblings: Raquel Rede, Roberto Gutierrez, Armando Gutierrez and Lydia Avila.

PALLBEARERS: Those honored to serve as Pallbearers are Joe Gutierrez, Freddie Gutierrez Jr, Rudy Gutierrez, Michael Gutierrez, David Chavez and Jesse Peach Jr.

Ernesto’s tribute was written in his honor by his family.
