Nine students receive Historical Society scholarships

The Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico has awarded scholarships to nine students to further their education at colleges or other post-secondary institutions.

Funding is made available by the Linda Hays Trust and from other donors, including the TSI Family Fund, Gerald and Ann Serafino, and the Bank of the Southwest.

Humanities and Arts Scholarships, $1,500 each: Jacob Davis Moody, Goddard High School, and Elsie Rae Gedde, Roswell High School.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Scholarships, $1,500 each: Makylah Angela De Leon Apostol, Goddard High, and Nicole Marie Lopez, Goddard High.

Character Scholarships, $1,500 each: Kyra Amber Gordon, Roswell High, and Mariah Rose Grimm, Dexter High School.
