Grab and go meals will again be available for Roswell children this summer through the Roswell Independent School District.

The free summer lunch program begins Thursday and continues Mondays through Fridays until July 23. Drive-thru pickup will be from 8 a.m. to noon at Goddard High School, Roswell High School and Berrendo Elementary. Staff will be observing COVID-safe practices such as wearing masks and gloves.

The meals will include a breakfast and a lunch, continuing from last year’s practice after the state’s public health order closed schools in the spring, said Tracey Wells of RISD’s food service administration.

“In a normal year we don’t supply breakfast,” she said. “We continued it through this year, so on the grab and go, it’s still going to be breakfast and lunch.”

Children do not have to be RISD students to get a meal, Wells said.
