Román Guerrero Perez, 81, a loving husband, father and grandfather (Pampo), passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021, at the family home surrounded by his loving family. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Román’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

SERVICES: There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home for Román on Monday, June 14, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery. Reception to follow immediately after services at Beginnings, 3908 SE Main St. Roswell, NM 88201.

On January 13, 1940, Román was born in San Pedro Durango, Mexico, to Geronimo and Maria De Los Angeles Perez. He was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. Román was the beloved husband of Sarah Vigil, whom he married on March 21, 1971. He worked for the City of Roswell for the sanitation department, retiring after 25 years of service. Román enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing bingo and going to the casino. Most of all, he loved attending all his grandchildren’s sporting events.

SURVIVORS: Those left to cherish Román’s memory are his wife, Sarah Vigil Perez; children: Angela and husband Raul, Randy and wife Rosa, Andy and wife Maria, Johnnie, Raymond and wife Rita, Edward and wife Imelda, Cindy and husband Ralph, Jerry, Geneva and husband Frank; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren, with a “Special” one on the way; as well as his siblings: Rosario, Oliva, Maria De La Paz, Pascuala, Jose Guadalupe, Geronimo, Juan, Felipe and Jesus Perez.

PRECEDED: Román is preceded in death by his parents: Geronimo and Maria De Los Angeles; son, Ronnie Herrera; grandchildren: Mia and Ava Marie Lucero; maternal grandparents: Román Guerrero and Cruz Avila; paternal grandparents: Juan Perez and Pascuala Sanchez; in-laws: Pedro and Mary Vigil; siblings: Raul Perez and Socorro Moreno; sisters-in-law: Emma Baiza and Esperanza Perez; brothers-in-law: Pedro and Pablo Vigil, Luis Cruz and Jose DeAnda.

PALLBEARERS: Those honored to serve as Pallbearers are Jared, Brandon and Ian Perez, Edward Vigil, Micheal Garcia, Joseph Lucero, Dominic Anaya and Dominic Floyd Anaya.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Interim Home Health, Kindred Hospice, Kymera Cancer Center, Dr. Arnett and Staff, Dr. Araujo and Ralph Salas for the loving care of our Dad.
