Harrison (Harry) Rose

Harrison (Harry) Rose, 95, formerly of Erie, Pennsylvania and Roswell, New Mexico passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020. Services for Harry will be at 9:00 AM, Friday, July 16, 2021, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at 10:00 AM, at South Park Cemetery with Military Honors. The family is requesting that masks be worn at St. Andrews Church during the service.

During his over 33 years in Roswell, Harry was a dedicated member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, where he whole heartedly embraced its various ministries. He was a committed supporter of the Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico where he served as a docent. Harry was well known for his historical tours of the Roswell and Southeastern New Mexican communities.

Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joanne and his loyal dog, Andrew. He is survived by his son, David (Bonnie) and his daughter, Heidi/Anne (Eric). Harry was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Benjamin Rose, Abigail Rose, Melissa Garcia, Heidi Collins, and Carol Ortiz and 7 great-grandchildren. Harry also is survived by his sisters-in-law Sally Pretti and Carol Bianchi and her son, Dr. Kevin (Cathy) Kavanagh.

Harry proudly served in the Navy during World War II as a sonar operator on three sub chaser/patrol craft vessels. He willingly shared these experiences with historians, high school students, and the community.
