Rosemary M. Garcia was called home to be with our Lord on Friday, June 4, 2021. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Rose’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

Rose was born on June 16, 1948, to Miguel (Mike) M. Sr. and Arcelia Martinez Garcia, now deceased. Rose graduated from Roswell High School in 1968, a true Coyote fan. After high school she became a professional (detailed) housekeeper and began by working for Mrs. Allison Tweedy at the Tweedy Ranch East of Roswell. Among those she worked for when we moved into town were Dr. & Mrs. Jennings, Dr. & Mrs. Castle, Judge Corn and his wife, Mr. & Mrs. McClellan (oil corporation), Mr. & Mrs. Adam Dutchover. She took pride in her work knowing she left everything smelling clean and looking nice. She came highly sought after to clean houses. She loved listening to the oldies but goodies. Her favorite artist was Elvis Presley. She loved to draw and work on arts and crafts. She loved to decorate for the holidays and be around family. Rose also loved to crochet blankets, knit, and sew blankets for the newborns to be welcomed into the family.

Rosemary loved to watch her television, and collecting movies she liked, or that the kids adored. She delighted in playing board games, doing puzzles and coloring with the kids. Rose or “Aunt Rosie” as the kids would call her, cherished the closeness of having family around her. During the holidays and family gatherings, her and her sister Loretta would look at things to see how they were made and say, “I can make that,” and they would. She and Loretta always did things together. She loved to cook tortillas, refried beans and red or green chile. No matter what time or how late the kids would go over, supper was always ready. She will be remembered best for her homemade rolls during the holidays or special occasions. In our own little world, she was the best cook ever!

Rose taught First Holy Communion at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Rose loved to talk about God and how great God is, and how important it is to have a relationship with Him. She was a devout Catholic and was a great believer in righteous living, positive values and strong family orientation.

Rose was the best aunt, great aunt, godmother, sister, and friend that we could have asked for. She was always there to help if you ever needed anything and always willing to help any way she could. We were blessed to have her in our lives. She will be missed dearly but she will never be forgotten. “Until we meet again, Sis, we love you”.
