State reports 137 COVID-19 cases Tuesday

The New Mexico Department of Health reported 137 new cases of COVID-19 and four related deaths in its daily case update Tuesday.

No new cases or deaths were reported for Chaves County.

Bernalillo County reported the most cases with 57. Eddy County had 21, and Sandoval had 10. Fourteen counties and the Otero County Processing Center each reported fewer than 10 cases.

The total number of cases in the state is 207,701, including 9,111 in Chaves County.

A recent death reported Tuesday was of a man in his 60s from San Juan County. Deaths reported Tuesday but that occurred 30 or more days ago included a woman in her 60s from Lea County, a woman in her 40s from Otero County and man in his 70s from Valencia County.

The man from Valencia County had been hospitalized. The man from San Juan County and the woman from Lea County both had underlying health conditions.

The total number of deaths related to COVID-19 in the state is 4,387, including 172 in Chaves County.

As of Tuesday, 98 people were hospitalized for COVID-19 in the state.
