Daniel Lopez is sworn in as a new Roswell city councilor on Tuesday afternoon at the Roswell City Hall on North Richardson Avenue. Chaves County Magistrate Judge E.J. Fouratt administers the oath of office, while Stephanie Lopez assists her husband. Lopez, a self-employed insurance agent and community volunteer, will represent Ward 4 and takes a position vacated by George Peterson, who resigned to accept a job with the city. The term of office expires in March 2022. The Roswell City Council approved Mayor Dennis Kintigh’s nomination of Lopez during a July 22 special meeting. (Submitted Photo)
