County reports 20 new COVID-19 cases Friday

The New Mexico Department of Health reported 331 new cases of COVID-19 in the state Friday including 20 in Chaves County.

Bernalillo County reported 93 new cases, Eddy County had 34, Doña Ana County 31 and Sandoval County had 23.

Nineteen counties and the Otero County Processing Center each reported fewer than 20 cases.

The total number of cases in the state since March 2020 is now 210,416 with 9,225 in Chaves County.

Two deaths related to COVID-19 were reported Friday — a man in his 60s from Valencia County who had been hospitalized and had underlying conditions, and a man in his 50s from Lea County.

The total number of deaths in the state is 4,410 including 172 in Chaves County.

As of Friday, 148 people are hospitalized in the state for COVID-19.
