Gene Martin Soliz

Gene Martin Soliz went to be with the Lord on August 1st, 2021 while in his home in Roswell, NM surrounded by friends and family.

Gene was born in Silver City, NM to Cerilia Archuleta Soliz and Ramon Baca Soliz on November 11, 1957. He was raised in Roswell, NM and lived on the East Side of Chihuahuita. He worked and owned the Soliz Typewriter Sewing and Vacuum Cleaner Business for over 20 years. Gene was a loving husband and father. He was a very compassionate person who would give you the shirt off his back if needed. He was basically a jack of all trades. He was a strong believer of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was a big Joker and made people laugh like crazy. Every one of his nieces and nephews called him Uncle Bean. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan! Gene had a spectacular green thumb, and his yard was always beautiful with roses, vegetables, flowers, and perfect green grass. He loved jammin’ out and playing his cowbell and music instruments with family.

Gene is survived by his wife, Rose Quintanilla Soliz, his son, Eugene Soliz, daughters, Roxanne Rodriguez and her husband Juan Rodriguez Jr., and Roseanne Soliz. He is also survived by his mother Cerilia Soliz, brother Joe Soliz and his wife Ester, his sisters Mary Soliz (Maes), and Yolanda Gamboa and her husband Johnny Gamboa. His grandchildren are Cruz, Isaac, and Isaiah Garcia, Nacia and Andrew (Peanut) Soliz, Juanito Rodriguez III, and Aubree Rodriguez, Alyanna Godfrey and Alexis Godfrey (deceased). He also has numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who were very close to him.

Gene is preceded in death by his twin brother Jerry Soliz, brothers Adam Soliz, and Melvin Soliz and sister Yolanda Maria Soliz.
