Diego Michael Salcido, 62, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, in Roswell, New Mexico. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Diego’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

SERVICES: There will be a Rosary for Diego at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass at 10:00 AM.

On January 9, 1959, Diego was born to Vicente and Isabel Salcido in Roswell, New Mexico. Diego loved working and traveling with the fair. Prior to retiring, he worked for National Beef Packing Company.

Some of Diego’s favorite pastimes he treasured playing bingo, spades, and dominoes, and especially loved cooking. He loved to cruise around while he was listening to his music. Diego absolutely adored his precious dogs, going fishing, dancing, card games, animal keeping, and deer hunting.

As an enthusiast, Diego loved watching America’s team, “The Dallas Cowboys.” He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous from 1994 to the time of his passing. Diego was also an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Diego was a kind soul who wore his heart on his sleeves. If he could help you, he’d go out of his way for you. His energy was out of this world. Diego’s favorite saying was, “It’s another day in paradise.” Those memories will go on in everyone’s hearts forever.

Those left to cherish Diego’s memory are his brothers: Vicente Salcido III and wife Priscilla and, Raymundo Salcido Jr; nephews: Gilbert Salcido, Louie Salcido Jr., Michael Torrez, David J. Ortega, Matthew Pare; nieces: Selena Salcido-Martinez and Renee Salcido-Ceballos; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Diego is preceded in death by his father, Vicente Salcido Sr; mother, Isabel Salcido; grandparents: Joe Lopez and Pilar Lopez, Diego Salcido and Petra Salcido; siblings: Vicente Salcido Jr, Louie Salcido Sr, Raymundo Salcido Sr., Andrew Salcido; and his niece, Vanessa Salcido.

HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Those blessed to serve as Honorary Pallbearers are Nick Gonzales and Charlie Gonzales.

MEMORIAMS: In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests to please send donations to the Dry Harbor Club in memory of Diego Salcido to 202 E. Van Buren, Roswell, NM.
