Wayne Alan Bouton

Wayne Alan Bouton, 69, passed away September 29, 2021. He was at home, surrounded by love after a courageous battle with ALS.

Wayne was the child of Betty and Robert Bouton. He was born in Illinois on July 29, 1952 and raised in Texas with his sister Anita. Wayne and his wife Janet moved to New Mexico in 1983. Working side by side as partners in every sense, they began and ran multiple businesses in Alamogordo, Roswell, Clovis, Portales and Artesia.

Wayne and Janet raised three daughters. His influence and example can be seen in all three. His greatest joy and pride was his family and the businesses he created.

Wayne was a hippie who loved the Beatles, retro TV and his dogs. His main pastime was work, whether it be with his business or yard, and at the end of the day he enjoyed a quiet night watching tv and relaxing or a weekly dinner out with friends. That was, until as a widower, he moved to Nocatee and found his groove, living on the corner and making friends of his neighbors, meeting Carolyn, the love of his life, who challenged him to embrace life with numerous activities, from pickleball to dance lessons to travel.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, mother, grandparents, and wife.
