Helen “Vici” Anderson

Helen “Vici” Anderson, age 66 of Floresville, Texas passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021. Vici was born July 10, 1955 to Thomas and Nancy (Welch) Pirtle in Roswell, NM.  She graduated from Roswell High School in 1973, where she was very active in the choral department and high school musical productions. She was a member of the award-winning vocal ensemble, Roswell High School Cyettes, from 1972-1973. She continued her education at Wayland Baptist College, attaining a degree in speech, with an emphasis in radio and television broadcasting.

Vici and Bill Anderson were married on January 19, 1980 in Roswell, where they lived before moving away to work in church ministry for several years. They made El Paso, Texas their home for more than thirty years and relocated to Floresville, Texas in 2018 to be near their grandchildren.

At the young age of 24, Vici began her career working for KBIM Television in Roswell where she reported the weather and also hosted the daily morning show, New Mexico Today.

Music was always an extremely important part of Vici’s life, from a very young age, all through college, and throughout her ministry and worship in each church where she always became an integral part of the community. She was a woman of strong faith and her praise of God through music was an integral part of the beautiful person she was.

For the majority of her life Vici worked as a teacher in language arts and theater. On several occasions she introduced theater and musical performances to schools where they had not previously had such a program. Vici retired from teaching in 2020. Her students loved her deeply and wanted her to know what a profound impact she had on their lives. Vici was loved by so many, a true reflection of God’s love on earth. All who knew her loved her. She sang like an angel and was kind and deeply loving. She will be missed but we know she’s singing beautifully in the Lord’s choir and directing Heaven’s next show.
